The Matrix- Red Pill

During the debate the main argument of the blue side was that ignorance is bliss and some people are unable to know the real truth. To counter this, taking the blue pill is simply taking the easy way out and being selfish. Yes, some people may mentally not be able to handle the high stakes and mental obstacles of being a nurse, or special agent, or in the case of the movie jumping between the matrix and the real world, but if all those people do not believe then the chance of finding someone who can possibly unveil the real truth about the world is greatly reduced and all will continue living in a world where the pure cause of fear and anxiety is the unknown. By taking the red pill, there are also different levels, different levels of involvement, not everyone will have to be in the middle gory part of it. Someone can contribute one way or another and in order to advance anywhere, the power in numbers to make a change is critical. During the pandemic, although nurses If only half of the population takes the red pill, there will be a constant battle, there would not be enough people to make impactful change. But if everyone were to take the red pill, there would be people who would be up to the task and the supporters.

Love Death & Robots (Three Robots Exit Strategies)

Although all the shorts were entertaining, the sequel to "Three Robots", "Exit Strategies", resonated with me the most. This episode was directed by Patrick Osborne who decided to make the sequel to the original "Three Robots", two seasons earlier because of all the love and attention the first episode received. When Patrick Osborne was interviewed, the key parts of the first episode he really enjoyed was how it was apolitical, "it kind of says that all humans are idiots, and we're all gonna just kill ourselves and kill each other". For a lot of people, myself included, I do not think humans really understand the harm they are doing to the planet until they watch this short film. The robots in the film attempt to understand people through the decades and the reason why and how humanity wiped itself out. The episode really tries to highlight that politics aside, although people can have their opinions, us living our daily lives with unbeknowns

Artificial Intelligence and Pinnochio

Artificial Intelligence is by far my favorite film to have watched so far. The character development of David or should I say flawed character development really adds a layer of complexity to the film. David was created so as to be one of the first robots to be able to exhibit and show the emotion of love. In doing so however, the programmers failed to develop his complexity of love to only having an unconditional love for his mother. He never reaches past his love for this mother which when threatened with the return of Martin caused him to become mischievous and begin acting in what could be perceived as violent manner. Which can almost be connected to Bladerunner  in that the replicants are also mere robots and turn to violence unwillingly. Pinnocchio although does not turn violent he still has the mischievous nature to him in that he runs away from home and disobeys his father. This highlights just one of the similarities between "Pinnochio"   and Artificial Intelligence.

Intro

 Hey, I'm Jenna. I am originally from Pennsylvania, about an hour outside of Philly. Although I don't have much free time, when I do, I enjoy working out, listening to music, going to the beach, and watching hockey or college football.  From this class, I expect to learn how to delve deeper and understand the specific thought process of movie and tv show directors/writers. Typically, I just watch movies and tv shows as a form of entertainment but this class will push me to analyze films on a new level. Despite missing the first class and introduction to what the class will be about, the second class already had me intrigued and excited about what's to come in the future!
